Has anyone had any experience (luck) of getting hospitals to provide feedback when they say they will or persuade them to do so?

I was told by my consultant that I'd have my results within two weeks - that was on June 9th.  Each time I phone, her secretary tells me she'll enquire and phone me back.  She never does.

Next time you ring her and she says she'll get back to you before ending the call ask her to put you through to either the chief exec or PALS because you need to discuss it with them!

Hi Lorien

Just Googled it and it must be a purley English service.  The row of offices end in a nice neat line at the England/Scotland border.

(Patient and Liaison Services or was it Prolong Actilive Life Service?)

PALS are as group within the hospital and they look after patients rights. If you're unhappy about something you get in touch with them and they usually "kick ass" :-)

Oh, bingo, Maureen, thank you!!

The annoying thing is, the consultant offered the information about getting the results in two weeks (i.e. I didn't ask her for a date) yet she couldn't have intended to do so because she went on holiday the following week - for three weeks!

Oh well... have to 'gird my loins' and phone them when I'm feeling assertive enough.

PALS might be a good option.

PALS, I've always known as Patient Advisory Liaison Service, although I notice its listed in search as Patient Advice and Liaison Service, link below explains:

Hi Lorien - your GP should have been notified of any results too and should by law give you them if you ask him for them.

Thanks Lavinia, he's had no results yet either.  In the last year or so I've received a copy of the letter that is sent to my doctor so I'm hoping it will be the same this time.

Hi Lorien

As Lavinia has said please check with your GP, They can chase the results up better than you can. Push for it
